In this month’s article I have chosen quite a dramatic and unusual image. One I took at Pascha and Chris’s wedding in the countryside. The wedding was truly a rural affair, bride and bridesmaids arriving on a horse drawn cart, wedding breakfast in an open-sided barn, guests sat on hay bales during the ceremony. It was such good fun to shoot.
‘Wedding photography and video that is creative and fun’ was the brief. They wanted wedding photography and a wedding video that was relaxed and informal to compliment the style of their day which matches our style perfectly. It’s so important to us that bride and groom are happy and not feeling pressured. We stay well out of the way and capture what’s really happening, natural body language and genuine smiles all round!
The shot above was made possible mainly because Pascha and Chris trusted us to shoot creatively and in a responsive way. This frees us up to react to the environment and have some fun with the images. It was shot on a long exposure using the natural light provided by the moon. All this whilst guests enjoyed the wedding breakfast and played lots of funny games, not to mention some pretty physical barn dancing too!
